Ayrshire,
a land of stunning scenery, is home to a wide range of attractions,
activities and events. A mecca to all golfers, it is home to over
30 golf courses including the famous championship links courses
of Turnberry, Royal Troon and Old Prestwick. Ayrshire is also the
Home of Scottish Bowling with 90 Scottish Bowling Association clubs
in the district.
The magnificent Northfield Bowling Complex has five competition
greens that stage the annual Scottish National Championships and
have hosted the British Isles Bowling Council Championships and
Home International Series.
Northfield
hosted the Ladies World Championships in 1992 so we're no stranger
to big events. The Ayr Bowling Tournament is one of the most prestigious
in Great Britain with over 400 competitors and illustrious winners
such as Willie Wood and David Gourlay.
But there's more than just Golf and Bowling in Ayrshire. Visit
our farm parks or wander round some of our outstanding country parks
and gardens.
Seek out our castles, historic buildings, stately homes and fascinating
ruins, each with their own intriguing story to tell. Then, wander
through the beautiful Ayrshire countryside where Scotland's national
poet, Robert Burns was born and discover the land that inspired
